Questions? Good. We like those.

The ten questions every Arizona property owner asks after a fire, answered straight. Got a different one? Ask Pebble below. She answers instantly.

Do I really need a public adjuster?

Not every claim does. Small, straightforward claims that get paid fully and fast usually don't. Here is the catch: most property owners misjudge how big their claim really is, and the adjuster the insurance company sends works for the insurance company, not for you. The free Claim Score takes about 4 minutes and tells you honestly whether yours is the kind of claim that benefits from representation. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.

How much does Bedrock cost?

Bedrock Claim Score is a self-help tool. There is no charge for its use. If a family later decides to pursue representation, Bedrock Society Adjusters charges 15% on most claims. Certain mid and post settlement claims can be higher. No fees come from you personally. That is why we do not collect social security numbers, ask personal financial questions, or need to know who you bank with. Any fees charged come from the insurance claim. Bedrock Society Adjusters only works on contingency.

What is the Bedrock Claim Score?

A free four-minute guided check that reads where your fire claim really stands: documentation strength, coverage clarity, valuation visibility, process readiness, and risk. You get an honest, no-pressure read plus your next best step. Curious how carriers actually handle claims? The research behind the method lives at Bedrock Claim Science.

Will hiring you make the insurance company retaliate or slow things down?

They cannot punish you for having representation. It is your legal right. In practice, professionally documented claims tend to move faster, because every request is in writing, every deadline is tracked, and nothing gets “lost.” What slows claims down is usually poor documentation, not representation.

How long does a fire claim take?

Straightforward claims can resolve in a few months. Large or complex claims can take longer, even over 12+ months. The biggest speed factors: how fast damage gets fully documented, whether code upgrades are in play, and how quickly disputes get escalated instead of sitting in a queue.

What should I do right after a house fire?

One, make sure everyone is safe and the property is secure. Two, don't sign anything yet, not even a friendly-looking form. Three, photograph everything before anything is moved. Four, get emergency board-up and mitigation rolling, since it is typically covered. The full walkthrough is on our Emergency Help page.

What is ALE, and how long does it last?

ALE (Additional Living Expenses, usually Coverage D) pays for somewhere to live while your home is unlivable: hotel, Airbnb, temporary apartment, plus extra costs like meals above your normal grocery spend. It lasts until you hit your dollar limit or your time limit, whichever comes first. Families run out mid-rebuild more often than you'd expect, which is why we built the free Housing Calculator.

What should I never say to the insurance adjuster?

Don't speculate about the cause, don't guess at values (never open with “it's probably worth..."), don't say “everything's fine,” and be careful with recorded statements. Stick to facts you know. If you're unsure about something, “I'll get back to you on that” is a complete sentence.

My claim already settled. Is it too late?

Not necessarily. Settled claims can sometimes be reopened or audited, especially if damage was missed or undervalued. It depends on your policy language, your state's deadlines, and what was actually documented. Run a free Claim Score and tell us it's a settled claim, and we'll give you an honest read on whether there's anything to pursue. Post-settlement reviews are quoted separately after we see your file.

What does Bedrock actually do for me?

We document every inch of damage, build a line-by-line valuation of what your claim is really worth, handle the paperwork and deadlines, and negotiate with the carrier from a position of evidence instead of hope. If you choose representation, it is provided by Bedrock Society Adjusters, our licensed Arizona public adjusting firm.
